Anticipate extinction burst when asserting relationship boundaries

When you stop giving too much in a relationship to stay in your integrity, expect the other person to have an "extinction burst" where they protest intensely before eventually giving up.

Recognize self-abandonment to escape love hostage situations

When you confuse love with self-abandonment and consistently prioritize the other person's joy over your own, it becomes a "hostage situation" rather than true love.
